65-66 Shocks Cad or Zinc?

Postby MTaylor » Wed Mar 04, 2015 5:58 pm

I'm in the process of restoring four or five sets of 65-66 rear shock absorbers. I was cleaning the parts with the intent of getting them off to the cad plater, but it appears that all of my original NOS shock parts were zinc plated. Of course, I like the look of cad much better but want the correct finish. Can anyone enlighten me as to the correct finish for these parts?

I'm also doing a set of the pre-65 flat tops, and these appear to be cad--correct?
