[ Begin ranting and raving ]
Harley-Davidson sells a book "The Legend Begins". It is Part# 99403-93, and it will cost you about $45 Your local Harley dealer probably doesn't have it in stock, but he can order it, and have it in a few days. It has photos of every year from 1903 through 1969. Yes, the photos are a little on the small side, but you can see the exact paint scheme, and a bunch of great information, for each year and model. Plus much more.
Many "cost-conscious" Harley guys DO NOT fork over the $45 for this book. They are CHEAP MFers. Those of us who own a copy are amazed that anyone can restore a bike without looking at the wealth of information in this book. Heck - four Big Macs cost about $45, and they are gone down the porcelain convenience the next morning. This book will last you a lifetime. Which is the better investment?
[End - ranting and raving]
