Frame Date Code--again

I have a very high number, late production 1969 XLCH. The date code on the frame looks like 0 L. Hmmmm. A closer examination . The 'O' seems to be a 9 without the tail. The indentation on the upper edge of the 'O' is deeper than the bottom edge as if the stamp was at an angle. It's definitely a classic CH frame- straight rear down tubes. It seems unlikely that it ended up with a 1959 (or 60) frame.
I'll pour another drink and ponder this a little more.

Does it have an unstamped vin pad on the right side of the neck casting? I have seen two very late '69 frames that have it.

No it doesn't look like one is there. The neck casting # is ?7594-56 ( tank's on- can't see the first number).
The code on my other 2 '69s - all three are in the 13600-13900 range is H9 which makes sense. I guess it could be around a '60 frame. Psychedelic Era bikes - always a trip.

Hi Joe and All,
Joe your frames intrigue me. I believe you said that your two 69 bikes have frames with H9 date codes. I would have thought August frames would be for the up coming model year, in your case 70 models. I have always figured about June, F, for the last of a model year. I also think based on frames I'm aware of that the VIN boss on the frame neck shows up in about mid April, D, based on frames I'm aware of with April date codes and VIN boss and no VIN boss on the necks. See the attached picture. If you get a chance to verify your frame dates and model years that would be great.
Thanks and have a great night.

Ooops- I meant D 9. Not H 9 - sorry about that. One of those is a CH and one is an H. The one in question is a CH with either a L 9 or L0. I can't check on the VIN bosses on the other 2 right now.
Another clue might be there weren't the tabs to mount the voltage regulator - although they could have been removed at some point.
I think I have an earlier frame. If it was for a 1970 I think it would have had the XLH style rear down tunes for both the CH or the H.
