Well, after weighing my time VS money options, I've decided to go with a completely finished bike. I've never allowed myself to do this so it feels unnatural. I've always built my own stuff. I have been talking with Kurt Von Zech for a while and we came up with a way for me to afford a bike of his. He had built this bike as a full stroker for someone. That person traded it back to Kurt after about 400 miles. Kurt wanted the motor and wheels for another project so that started the planning. This is the bike but it will have original early wheels/tires and a different motor that he just completely rebuilt. I'll be getting a tach on some XL handlebars.
It's much more than I wanted to spend but I know this bike will be "right." It will start easy and run strong. I'll get to the details later when it's done and I get it home to Atlanta in mid Feb.
