Later sportster front end to KH frame

Postby schleykm » Fri Mar 27, 2020 9:47 pm

I recently purchased a '55 KH basketcase. There was no K-model front end but there was a later Sportster front end. It has a 1" stem so it must be after '72 and the stem is about 2" to long. Because I am spending all my meager funds into the engine, I would like to use another (less expensive) front end for the time being. Does anyone know what might fit?

So 1" solid stem and longer sounds like timken bearings etc. The K and XL forks 52 till about '67 are close. Use hollow stem, and 5/16" Ball Bearings.

What brake or wheel do you have access to? The Sportster drum brake front end thru 72 should be a direct fit and not require a master cylinder like the 73 and later.
