Weird K vin help!!!’

Hopefully tonight when it gets dropped off, but I did measure the pad you’re saying you think it’s been milled , as far as I can tell it’s measuring out at around 152” did send off pics to a couple restoration shops they said looks original unless they did a great job. But who knows.

How about photos of both the serial (VIN) number and belly numbers - in a size we can actually see?

Here's my 52K vin for comparison - my belly numbers are 552-1050. I'm betting these are dealer replacement cases. After all 52 K cases are no the most robust piece of engineering the world has seen. Cheers Hayley.

Here is an excerpt from our little database of serial -to- belly number correspondence. You can see that the serials and bellies are pretty close, roughly +/- 100, and the difference was less than or equal to 5%. So 52K 3027 is not too far out of whack - at least as far as the serial -to- belly correspondence goes.

Sorry I can't seem to get the above lined up correctly.

To me: The serial number pad looks OK, the pad finish looks OK, the font looks OK, the number alignment, spacing, and depth look OK, although surprisingly clean and neatly stamped. The belly numbers look OK, normal wear and tear. Thanks for the Photoshop work, wz507

The only problem I see is that the numbers are higher than they should be. The Legend Begins shows production of 1970, so the last serial number should 2970 or 2971. So 52 K 3027 is more than 50 numbers too high.

What's your opinion?

The best news i have heard so far, The more i think about it , if they where replacement cases ,why would they go so high with the vin and would they also stamp belly numbers ,
