Nice work Patrick. She should be flying up the road soon. I was wondering about the valve springs as the short -32 spring is called for with the big cams. KH and KHK. Anyway hopefully no more hurdles. :) I couldn't resist an in line oil filter either. Made a small one from an alloy Pontiac timing cover/filter. Cheers Erik

Yes Erik,

Oil filter = std engine life x 10...

Color is 2 pack equivalent to Dulux Atlantic Blue, quite deep but not dark!!!

All done and dusted... went for about 10 miles on it, needs fine adjustments on the carb, that's it... Brakes a bit feebles, time will tell...

Patrick,

Super job on the 55. I have really enjoyed watching this build come together. Where is the pub that will have the Ironheads on Saturday ? I am in London for several days from the States and would love to see it in person !

Hi all,

Went for a run on Friday and Andy took this shot where I work... Engine is very aggressive... Will have to tune carb to make it a bit more civilized... primary leak as well... hard to start 1st thing in the morning, then one kick is all that's required... The carb has a M53A Linkert disc, 9X... Might be the reason... I have another body with the std 9A disc, might swap soon if tuning don't improve!!! About 30 miles done on Saturday and Sunday... Tuned a bit but still not quite there...

Patrick, what's the square electronics disc on the handlebar clamp? Is that a telltale tach or a speedo? If so what kind is it and how does it work? Thanks, Ron

Patrick, who's the manufacturer and where do you get them? Is magnet epoxied on or sheet metal screws?
