Hi gang,
Are there torque specs for the K heads on the site yet? I looked but didn't find any info on the torque values. If there not here can anyone tell me what they should be?
Thanks,
JerryR

I go 45, 55 than 65 final with a little antiseize or oil on the threads.

Jerry, Erikk's specs are probably really good. Everything I've read published says something like, "tighten until fully tight." Pretty vague but still that's what I do. I just go by feel but l suspect it ends up in the 60-65 range.

No torque values cause you're tightening stuff in cast iron that doesn't stretch one yota...

Don't over do it...

To give myself a bit more feel, I use thick copper washers underneath the steel ones.

Hey Guys, For whatever it's worth, when I bought my 1954 KH in 1974 the previous owner had left the riders handbook in a saddlebag. The cover had been ripped off but on the back of the last page he or someone had penciled in the torque sequence. I traced over some of the notes with an ink pen to preserve them. He also claimed he bought the bike used and had owned it 15 years before he sold it to me. I have to assume that those torque specs worked for him all those years and I continued to use them as well. Not sure if he got those specs from the dealer or where but he must have come up with them somewhere. 600 in.lbs = 50 ft lbs

When I got my freshly rebuilt '54 KHK motor from Mayne Price back in '71 he told me to use nickel anti-seize on the threads, K&W Copper Coat on the head/cylinder mating surface and the 45,55,65 sequence. I never had a problem following that advice.
