Does anyone have any experience or thoughts about fuel cooling cans on XLs?

Well for Racing cooling the fuel is one of the earliest tricks. Cold fuel = denser fuel. Means more fuel...but than you still need to adjust the proper ratio in the charge for Correct Power.

I guess the question should have been, would a cool can be effective enough to make a difference. I don’t think there’s much of a downside trying it. I had one in a drag care years ago but I never really determined how much of an effect it had.

Another benefit of Cool Cans, usually a drag racing thing, is a positive flow of dense fuel without chance of vapor lock on a hot day at the strip. Many were simple coils packed in a can of ice. So on a hot day racing they help keep fuel stable before entering carbs/injection.

Some factors I’m working with. Air temperature approaching 100F, aluminum fuel tank, full fairing, plus heat rising from the heads. I ordered a standard Mr. Gasket Cool Can to experiment with. There’s not a great weight penalty involved and it might make a difference.

By the way- Is anyone else on this forum making it to Bike Week in Bonneville?
