Is a 53KRM Motor Suppose to Look Like This?

Hi Again,
My friend also would like to know if these cases look correct for a 53KRM. In particular should they have the relief cuts in the spigots like a stroked motor would?
Thanks,
JerryR

Did you intend to post a picture with your query?

Well limited view with one pretty good eye I see KH KHK Rod Reliefs in Jug Bores. KR Valve Cover Sleeves are not correct. How about real beef like #s... Probable replacement KH case. Erik

I see a changed generator mount (maybe for a Front mount magneto) and a 34 tooth Motor sprocket instead of 30 ...

How about some better photos, this is the digital age. :) I have seen KRM cases and they don't have stroker KH slots. This case does look like Tool Box Stud Hole is unmachined or welded in. If your friend is serious lets see photos that are clearer please and numbers or part. Erik

The tool box Stud Mount Boss is interesting because it is not Drilled or Tapped. It also is Not Milled Flat like most Ks for Street.

Erik;

These cases:

1) have big magneto hole, not small gene hole
2) for that period, it means these are KR cases with magneto idler gear shaft location, not K/KH dynamo idler shaft, even if stamped otherwise by whoever...
3) unmachined tool box stud confirms KR cases

Pat, yes I agree. Stroker slots may have been added also, or did KR 45 cases have them? It would be nice to view numbers, especially if they are Korrect. If not no big deal because numbers came and went depending on situation. Teams would stamp multiple motors with their normal number to pass inspection after midnight swaps, etc. Used halves were simply parts to reCycle.

Erik, My 1955 KR cases have relief notches cut in them like these. Ron
