I bought a 66 Sportster xlch recently. Now I find it has major issues, intentionally hidden from potential buyers.
I am seeking some refund but that is another story. Good luck I tell myself.
The engine does not have a compensating sprocket. Does this mean the XLCH did not have a compensating sprocket or has it been discarded along the way.
My guess is it should have a compensating sprocket or vibration would be intolerable.

A compensating sprocket will not reduce vibration. It acts as a shock absorber to lesson the impact on the transmission. If anything it probably adds to the vibration.
What are the other major issues ?

1966 XLCH did not come with a compensating sprocket. Only the XLH model had it in 1966.
