KH, first start, questions, problems....

Hello,
after long time I got her kick started today. Can‘t show video here because of data size.....
Afterstart runs nice, no black or white out of exhaust
Then I drove a little ( ugly cold ! )
In first in second shift ok
Then when I go faster I realize a scrape noise in engine area.......and oillamp goes on/off, but runs, shifting perfect.....
After stopping I realized that oil comes out from pressure from upper oiltank shutter.....there was too much pressure in the system....
When I got the bike there was a open round filter adjusted, I changed to orig. setup, but there seems to be not enough space for oil circulation,possible ? So at this place is to many flow space, maybe ?
About the scrape noise ?
What can happen ? Hope not to less circulation of oil short time ?
The oil pump works, otherwise there shouldn‘t be that oil pressure at the shutter, or ?
Can it be maybe a problem with a wrong speedometer connection ? The seller said he optimized this or repaired it or what ever but in the mean while I knew that this are real inkompetent dealer in Italy....specialized on older Harley’s, my goodness.....really people with no experience and more then unfair......

Hi Peter. Maybe pressure relief is stuck in oil pump? Returning too much, dropping pressure and turning on warning lamp? Oil hose all routed correct? Vent, return, feed...If return is hooked to vent it gets too much oil returning for that port. If noise is near speedo drive possible miss match of Countershaft Low Gear/Speedo Gear. This will cause noise. The oil light should not come on when running, could be sender. Check with guage if any doubt. Erik

First mistake was detected, the spring under the oilfilter steel tube wasn‘t there, so the filter was too deep. Anyway I changed this for test to a another more open filter.
The speedometer should be take out to see what this „bottle“ in Italy installed.Job for tomorrow...

Guten tag Peter. Put in neutral and drive should just unscrew. Colony makes a Block off Plug if needed eventually. Now I remember Noot saying if miss match Low Gear, there is 17 tooth and 18 tooth you can get some noise. From Speedo Drive. Transmission accepts either one but Speedo Drives Gears have to match. ok, found this part on ebay with 11 tooth
so how can I find out if 17 or 18 for a KH ? Like not to dismantle the engine now......

It appears that the 18 was used after 53 for all Ks, XLs from just talking with Jerry. See the technical chart he worked on and posted here.

Hello,
what is the right glue to seal the small srew goes into the brass floater. ? Should be petrol resistent......
Attached a picture from the speedometer drive unit, can this bad condition be the reason for the noise...!?
