Got Lift? Got Duration? (Comparative Camshafts)

I've got some unusual "F" cams that came inside my 54 KH, and I'm wondering just what they are!

The first thing I notice is the duration on the F's is massive compared to the K's. Check the F intakes - they open quickly and stay open forever!
The K cams are pretty much symmetrical. The F's have distinct differences on the opening and closing sides, and they seem to differ on all four.

The lifts are all different too.
K1 = .310, F1 = .350
K2 = .325, F2 = .385
K3 = .320, F3 = .365
K4 = .320, F4 = .350

What are these monsters? If you happen to have a set of both K and KK/KHK cams, could you take some comparative photos?

F grind is definite KR. I run .420" E cams with great results in my 56KHK custom with other mods. Put em in there! Peice of cake. Have scads of cam photos.... Erik

1964 KR grind for sure... And mounted on KH shafts.

All known KR grinds listed here with lift/duration:

Hello all, My name is Stan Diener. I've been a member since 2014 but haven't been active. I'm a close friend of Roger Meinke that some of you may know. I bought a 1954 KH back in 1973 that I eventually restored and was featured on the cover of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America magazine back in the fall issue of 1990. I also picked up a 1953 KK back in the mid 80s that I restored and still own today. Through the years the conversation of K model cams came up often. I made up a couple of pictures to compare gear width and cam lobe shape. At the time I only had #3 cams of each style to compare so that was the one I used. I saw this posting and thought the pictures might be useful to someone. I have never posted here before and never uploaded pictures but I am going to give it a try. I hope it works.

Stan,

Great to hear from you. Thank your for your photos and notes from the Harley Museum 1954 KH, which can be found over in the Technical:Finishes section- although I may move it to the Gallery section where it will be more visible. I found your 1954 on the AMCA CD of back issues. I'm gonna ask the AMCA is we can reprint the article on the website. But the last page of the article on the CD is missing. Do you (or anybody) have a paper copy that could be scanned?

Do you have any more photos of it? And do you have photos of your 53 KK? (I don't ask for much, do I?)
