Y in Pistons

Postby JerrryR » Tue Feb 14, 2017 9:42 am

Hi All,
I bought some 57XL cylinders from a guy and they came with some pistons. I was curious why someone would grind the “Y”s in the top of the pistons? Hope all is well with you and yours.

Somebody's better idea to assist the combustion process! Perhaps peripherally related to the Singh squish grooves.

Hello all - looks like someone's crude attempt to try and concentrate fuel/air charge to the middle of the chamber. Simple solution - twin plug. Interestingly Ducati have twin plugged their latest 1299 Panigale - more horsepower while using less fuel. Funny how sometimes we need to look backwards to move forwards in our digital age. Cheers Hayley.
