Ok. Failing that, does the R lower clamp have the fittings and threaded holes for the headlight shroud?

Standard lower clamp casting with ears for mounting the tops for the dust boots.
The holes for the fork tubes are machines at a 3 degree angle from parallel to match the holes in the top clamp.

Hi hugoct. Thanks for the interesting information on the 3 degree of fork angle. Is that fork angle information written in one of the R manuals. If not, where did you procure it from?
I have re worded my original query...Does the R lower clamp retain the boss on the outside edge of the fork clamp for the headlight shroud or is it smooth?

I have seen them in Factory photos. With bosses. Shaving was always an option.

The 3 degree angle is from the blueprint.

I have some K Tree Examples. First year one -52 Lower with 4 small screw holes for Cow Bells. Needs matching Top Clamp. I'll show 2 early varieties. Also have 52A example showing stem angle difference. Has -57 Mod for rear Fork Boot Breather. Ok. Sounds more like a -54C! 54-B should
Match -54 top but still 4 small screw holes for F
holding Boot Clamp w/o large breather hole in rear which came on Sportsters. -57 K stuff. Also note lower Top Clamps. Even though Shaved, there are two -52 Early Styles. And 2 -54 styles. One cast only. One welded from factory. Ok yeah it's fun. Erik

At the fear of being labelled the slow kid of the class, I have to ask... How do I positively identify an R lower fork clamp.
Are the early K model lower clamps eg ( 45707-52 ) used as the R clamp for all KRTT, and XLRTT bikes?
Or is it something else.
Sorry teacher, but as soon as you say “Now pay attention”....my eyes glaze over.  :geek:
