Streetability

Postby Racer156 » Sun Feb 28, 2021 6:52 pm

Hello,

This is my first post here, so just a heads up that I’m a noob to k models. I’ve been researching K-models online and scouring classifieds for a bike to resurrect. I know the WL flatheads were considered to be the most reliable bikes Harley ever built but it seems k models have a reputation for overheating and sometimes seizing. I was wondering if you guys could give me the scoop on K model reliability and what kinds of mods to do for a bike that’s ridden on a regular basis including the freeway. I was also reading that the 52-53 and 54 non trap door models are a real pain in terms of machine shop time to get the cases and transmissions together. Any help/advise/ or hot tips for a west coast fixer upper would be appreciated.

Thanks!
