You may also contact Leineweber Enterprises. Can find them on the Internet pretty easily. They can do anything with camshafts. Good to deal with as well and I am pretty sure they have press and weld cam lobes for all K Model applications.

Thanks for the information, they have been mentioned before. I found them on the web, no specific info on K cams but I suppose they can't list everything. I shall contact them, they certainly seem to have a good reputation.

The hottest cams have a concave opening flank (kidney bean), the diameter of the grinding wheel must factor into the lobe profile. Don't try this at home.
The OEM Linkert is an M-53 (with the "bombsite" booster venturi). I suspect that the M-53A (for the KH with the full size 1-5/16" venturi) will accept the booster venturi, which IIRC is also available aftermarket.

Hi Panic,

Yes, my findings have shown up the "kidney" shape. I can grind them, but I'm toying with the idea of having them wire cut to a fine Ra and them hand polishing them.
I've found M74 & 88 but no 53's. I'll keep digging. All very interesting.

In the days when Harley was racing the Lucifer's Hammer XR1000 the Racing Department used DJ Cams
DJ cams were known to have an "inverse radius" on the cam flanks.
Horsepower gains were experienced on the Racing Department dyno.
The down side was valve and valve guide wear along with valve spring wear.
The inverse radius flanks resulted in extreme valve opening and closing rates resulting in shortened valve train component life.

M-74B is very common (unfortunately $$$) because of continuous use 1950-64 on FL.
The bolt pattern is correct (the M-88 is not), but the venturi is too big, and main nozzle very different. If you can borrow one, substitute the 1-1/8 (smallest "normal" venturi for the 1-1/2" Model M) and an M-53 nozzle and try it out.

DaVincini makes a booster venturi for the S&S that replaces the main nozzle of S&S etc. (not for Linkert AFAIK), but it's not in the right place. Apparently, it still works.
The M-53 body is machined differently internally for the special venturi, the M-53 booster will not fit any other 1-1/2" Linkert "normal" carburetors: M-25, 36, 45, 61, 74, 75.
It looks like a Holley 4150 booster (smaller than the M-53) or Holley 4010 booster (larger than the M-53) can be adapted to the common Linkert (again, not the right place, but still useful), but no known results. I have some additional comments in my booklet.
