I'm still collecting parts for my project, but I'm getting close to piecing the engine together, but I do have one question.

Does anyone know of a person that can rebuild this spedo? I seems to work, but cosmetically its a mess.

Thanx

Unfortunately, Ralph has had some health problems, and is no longer in business. I'm not sure who has picked up for him, maybe Perry Ruiter, but at the moment, he's vacationing in Uruguay.

I would contact Duane Taylor. He does Hummer speedos, which, like the K and XL speedos, are a mix of (early) Stewart-Warner, and *(later) AC units.

Check out the listing at the Harley Hummer Club for Duane's contact info

These 2 Speedo repair shops advertise in every issue of the AMCA magazine. I and many friends have had Speedos rebuilt by Bordas and been very pleased with his work. Perhaps somebody else will weigh-in on experience with the other vendor.

John Bordas does absolutely amazing work for fair money and in good time. I have had him do numerous speedos for me over the last couple of yars although they were all Big Twin. Very approachable and easy to talk to. Call him and ask the question.

Thank you for the info everyone.

I had Bordas do a panhead spedo about 10 years ago..Didn't know he was still doing it, and didn't realize he would do the K's.
I should have looked in my AMCA magazine!

One other question.
My spedo has a green face, but are the earlier ones cream colored?

Grey face is 57 & 58 XL. There are 2 types of the earlier green face speedos.

I'm hoping I have the correct one.

Ty, the two types of K Model speedometers use the same green face plate. The difference between the two are in the way they are mounted. Ridged mount, '52 to '54 and rubber mount '55 and '56.
