I got my headlight rechromed, and when I went to re-assemble it, I realized I had pulled a real dummy move: When I removed the oil/gen light holder, I forgot to note which way it goes in.
It appears to me that for 1954-1958, the bakelite strip faces the top/front of the shell, and the bulb wires make a U-turn. Can anyone confirm this?
While pondering this matter, it occurred to me that it's possible that the 1952-1953 has the reverse situation.
So, dig out your headlight shells and tell me what you see.
Thanks,
Dave
P.S. I haven't actually installed them yet, but the General Electric kitchen range lenses that I bought look like they are a perfect fit.
