Nice looking 56 KHK here. Is the high pipe option a fantasy piece or the real deal? Thanks, Mike

The factory did it as an option for TT bikes.

2-3 versions of said pipe as well - KRM/KHRM. Nice!

TT races were for professionals. TT racers would have probably used KR or KHR cylinders, heads and low pipes.

KRM and KHRM used standard cylinders, No KR or KHR type. So standard pipes and clamps worked on them.

Original '56 KHRM.

My point was that 1) only professional races could be advertised as TT races according to AMA rules of the time. 2) anyone running a K or KH (we don't see many in the entry lists) in a professional TT race would probably switch the cylinders and heads to KR or KHR components. 3) If the racer had the KR or KHR cylinders and were running in a professional TT race they would most likely run the KR low pipes. 4) The high pipes would be an advantage in a rough scrambles, enduro or desert race environment but not a TT race..
